Administrator of PSIN, Dr. Shehu Abubakar Misau presents PSIN’s training programme to DG of BPP, Engr. Emeka M. Ezeh

The Director-General of the Bureau of Public procurement (BPP), Engr. Emeka M. Ezeh, has expanded the concept of “local content” to include the service and facilities of Government institutions and facilities by agencies of Government.  In demonstration of the Bureau’s commitment to patronage of local institutions, the Bureau is exploring the prospects of conducting the next interviews for conversion to the Procurement Cadre of the Federal Civil Service at the 500-capaity auditorium of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN).

The BPP helmsman mooted these ideas on 6 February 2014 while receiving a team of PSIN top management, led by its Sole Administrator, Dr. Shehu Abubakar Misau, on a courtesy visit to the BPP Headquarters at the Presidency.

According to Dr. Misau, the visit was in appreciation of Engr. Ezeh’s consistent support for the activities of the Institute, including regularly honouring invitations to make presentations to trainees at the institution.

In addition to PSIN, Engr. Ezeh listed the public institutions in Nigeria offering relevant local content that  should be patronized as the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), where BPP is supporting a Public Procurement Research Centre (PPRC); the Administrative Staff College, Topo-Badagry; and the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Shangisha, Lagos.

BPP has already sent some of its personnel to some of the training programmes. According to Engr. Ezeh,

The PSIN Sole Administrator presented the programme of the Institute’s training to Engr. Ezeh.

PSIN, located on Dutsen-Alhaji Junction, kilometre 30 on the Kubwa-Kaduna expressway, was established by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to develop top level manpower for the public sector.
