Eighteen (18) members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, on 7 February 2017, made an oversight visit to the Bureau of Public Procurement at its headquarters in Abuja. The team, led by its chairman Oluwole Oke, was received by the Bureau’s Director-General, Mamman Ahmadu, FNIQS, supported by several members of the Bureau’s top management. 

Mr. Ahmadu updated the legislators on the Bureau’s activities, particularly its performance specific to the 2017 budget. In response, Hon Oke encouraged the Bureau to take the Committee into confidence and assured it of its determination to support it to push ahead with the nation’s procurement reform programme

The Committee specified the details expected from the Bureau at its impending defence of its 2017 budget proposals. The visiting House Committee members were:
